The Middle East, Radical fundamentalism and Israeli conflict News

In dealing with the ongoing violence in the modern world, we have decided to present a log of news stories from various sources in which Islam or an Islamic related issue is either being discussed or presented. We will also present issues dealing with the Middle East including documenting events that occur with countries that also have dealings with the Middle East. This page will attempt to represent a fair view of all the issues and though the site may not agree with all the content presented we are only a third party and will present the source as is. Any other issue related to end-time prophetic implications also is shown. We hope that this page becomes a quick reference source for those who want to keep up with how Islam is affecting the world today. This page will be updated as much as possible and refined throughout the future. Any input or recommendations or links are highly welcomed from all.

We’ve scoured for stories and briefings which aren’t found in mainstreamed media; hence the purpose of this page is to give you, the reader, and an insight on issues affecting the Middle East that you won’t normally see from your regular news source. We’ve included articles from sources such as CNN to intelligence briefings. We also try to keep updated information on current events as they happen but we focus on events typically not reported by the Western media. With this page you will know what is happening around the world from the sources in that part of the world. The Middle East is the key to the entire world and for the sound reader to know what affects world markets, events and circumstances requires a deep and in-depth knowledge of events happening in the Middle East. Each section is divided into Main reading, for very important readings we feel are apart of the specific section as well as Current Events, for recent headlines.

Please feel free to check older headlines also since many updates do include articles and news sources that are of great importance but may be dated from an earlier period. Many such stories aren’t found in the mainstream media.

Why Islam is disrespected IT WAS front-page news this week when Newsweek retracted a report claiming that a US interrogator in Guantanamo had flushed a copy of the Koran down a toilet. Everywhere it was noted that Newsweek's story had sparked widespread Muslim rioting, in which at least 17 people were killed. But there was no mention of deadly protests triggered in recent years by comparable acts of desecration against other religions. (5/19/05)

A story that wasn’t true actually tells a true story THE embarrassing Newsweek climb-down on the Quran story is surely one for the annals of journalistic screw-ups. Sure, maybe the magazine’s editor probably should resign as a gesture of respect for the Muslim world, not to mention for whatever is left of honour in the US journalism profession. (5/19/05)

Mirage in the Sahara Of all the Arab lands, the desert state of Mauritania is the poorest.
