Hadith vs Qur’an (Version
2.0)
Gary Bee
[Preface: Gary Bee recently composed a two-fold collection of hadiths on inspired sayings of Muhammad. Many of these embarrasing teachings are never expounded upon by Muslim apologist who attack Christianity. I mean after reading this, would you do the same if you believe this person was your true prophet?]
The religion of Islam is founded upon the words and deeds of Muhammad, who
lived in the 6th century. In Islam the most authentic sources of Muhammad's
words and deeds can be found in the Sahih (authentic) traditions of the Hadith.
Muslims allege that Muhammad is an inspired prophet of God. Therefore we must
investigate his sayings to see if God would actually inspire his words. Here are
some wonderfully inspired words and actions from Muhammad as recorded in the
Hadith (the words and deeds of Muhammad).
We are using the nine-volume translation of the Hadith made by Dr Muhammad
Mushsin Khan entitled "The Translation of the Meaning of Sahih Al-Bukhari".
It is recommended and approved by all Muslim authorities, including the
spiritual heads of Mecca and Medina.

written for Muslims by Muslims.
Muslims claim that Hadith which CONTRADICT the Qur’an
are NOT “authentic” even although they appear in the list of “authentic”
Hadith! (Remember, Muslims collected, filtered, authenticated and then
published all of these). The challenge to Muslims is to quote a Qur’an
chapter/verse which CONTRADICTS each of these Hadith… or else by their NEW
standard of REAL “authentic” Hadith, the Hadith is valid.

Adam the colossus - you too will be this big in paradise (about 30m high!)
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 4, Book 55, Number 543:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, "Allah created Adam, making
him 60 cubits tall. When He created him, He said to him, "Go and greet
that group of angels, and listen to their reply, for it will be your greeting
(salutation) and the greeting (salutations of your offspring." So, Adam said
(to the angels), As-Salamu Alaikum (i.e. Peace be upon you). The angels said,
"As-salamu Alaika wa Rahmatu-l-lahi" (i.e. Peace and Allah's Mercy be upon
you). Thus the angels added to Adam's salutation the expression, 'Wa
Rahmatu-l-lahi,' Any person who will enter Paradise will resemble Adam (in
appearance and figure). People have been decreasing in stature since Adam's
creation.

Muhammad’s genetics - depends on who discharges first
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 4, Book 55, Number 546:
Narrated Anas:
When 'Abdullah bin Salam heard the arrival of the
Prophet at Medina, he came to him and said, "I am going to ask you about three
things which nobody knows except a prophet: What is the first portent of the
Hour? What will be the first meal taken by the people of Paradise? Why does a
child resemble its father, and why does it resemble its maternal uncle"
Allah's Apostle said, "Gabriel has just now told me of their answers."
'Abdullah said, "He (i.e. Gabriel), from amongst all the angels, is the enemy
of the Jews." Allah's Apostle said, "The first portent of the Hour will be a
fire that will bring together the people from the east to the west; the first
meal of the people of Paradise will be Extra-lobe (caudate lobe) of
fish-liver. As for the resemblance of the child to its parents: If a man
has sexual intercourse with his wife and gets discharge first, the child will
resemble the father, and if the woman gets discharge first, the child will
resemble her." On that 'Abdullah bin Salam said, "I testify that you are
the Apostle of Allah." 'Abdullah bin Salam further said, "O Allah's Apostle!
The Jews are liars, and if they should come to know about my conversion to
Islam before you ask them (about me), they would tell a lie about me." The
Jews came to Allah's Apostle and 'Abdullah went inside the house. Allah's
Apostle asked (the Jews), "What kind of man is 'Abdullah bin Salam amongst
you?" They replied, "He is the most learned person amongst us, and the best
amongst us, and the son of the best amongst us." Allah's Apostle said, "What
do you think if he embraces Islam (will you do as he does)?" The Jews said,
"May Allah save him from it." Then 'Abdullah bin Salam came out in front of
them saying, "I testify that None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and
that Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah." Thereupon they said, "He is the
evilest among us, and the son of the evilest amongst us," and continued
talking badly of him.

Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 4, Book 51, Number 3:

I asked 'Abdullah bin Abu Aufa "Did
the Prophet make a will?" He replied, "No," I asked him, "How is it then that
the making of a will has been enjoined on people, (or that they are ordered to
make a will)?" He replied, "The Prophet bequeathed Allah's Book (i.e.
Quran)."
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 4, Book 51, Number 4:

In the presence of 'Aisha some people mentioned
that the Prophet had appointed 'Ali by will as his successor. 'Aisha said,
"When did he appoint him by will? Verily when he died he was resting against

while in that state, and I could not even perceive that he had died, so when

Abu Huraira went on narrating: So I brought some stones, carrying them in the
corner of my robe till I put them by his side and went away. When he finished,
I walked with him and asked, "What about the bone and the animal dung?" He
said, "They are of the food of Jinns. The delegate of Jinns of (the city

How sure is Muhammad of his own salvation?
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 5, Book 58, Number 266:
Narrated 'Um al-'Ala:
An Ansari woman who gave the pledge of
allegiance to the Prophet that the Ansar drew lots concerning the dwelling of
the Emigrants. 'Uthman bin Maz'un was decided to dwell with them (i.e. Um
al-'Ala's family), 'Uthman fell ill and I nursed him till he died, and we
covered him with his clothes. Then the Prophet came to us and I (addressing
the dead body) said, "O Abu As-Sa'ib, may Allah's Mercy be on you! I bear
witness that Allah has honored you." On that the Prophet said, "How do you
know that Allah has honored him?" I replied, "I do not know. May my father and
my mother be sacrificed for you, O Allah's Apostle! But who else is worthy of
it (if not 'Uthman)?" He said, "As to him, by Allah, death has overtaken him,
and I hope the best for him. By Allah, though I am the Apostle of Allah,
yet I do not know what Allah will do to me," By Allah, I will never assert
the piety of anyone after him. That made me sad, and when I slept I saw in a
dream a flowing stream for 'Uthman bin Maz'un. I went to Allah's Apostle and
told him of it. He remarked, "That symbolizes his (good) deeds."

Murder and deceit - trademarks of Muhammad’s character
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 5, Book 59, Number 369:
Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:
Allah's Apostle said, "Who is willing
to kill Ka'b bin Al-Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His Apostle?" Thereupon
Muhammad bin Maslama got up saying, "O Allah's Apostle! Would you like that I
kill him?" The Prophet said, "Yes," Muhammad bin Maslama said, "Then allow
me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Kab). "The Prophet said, "You may
say it." Then Muhammad bin Maslama went to Kab and said, "That man (i.e.
Muhammad demands Sadaqa (i.e. Zakat) from us, and he has troubled us, and I
have come to borrow something from you." On that, Kab said, "By Allah, you
will get tired of him!" Muhammad bin Maslama said, "Now as we have followed
him, we do not want to leave him unless and until we see how his end is going
to be. Now we want you to lend us a camel load or two of food." (Some
difference between narrators about a camel load or two.) Kab said, "Yes, (I
will lend you), but you should mortgage something to me." Muhammad bin
Mas-lama and his companion said, "What do you want?" Ka'b replied, "Mortgage
your women to me." They said, "How can we mortgage our women to you and you
are the most handsome of the 'Arabs?" Ka'b said, "Then mortgage your sons to
me." They said, "How can we mortgage our sons to you? Later they would be
abused by the people's saying that so-and-so has been mortgaged for a camel
load of food. That would cause us great disgrace, but we will mortgage our
arms to you." Muhammad bin Maslama and his companion promised Kab that
Muhammad would return to him. He came to Kab at night along with Kab's foster
brother, Abu Na'ila. Kab invited them to come into his fort, and then he went
down to them. His wife asked him, "Where are you going at this time?" Kab
replied, "None but Muhammad bin Maslama and my (foster) brother Abu Na'ila
have come." His wife said, "I hear a voice as if dropping blood is from him,
Ka'b said. "They are none but my brother Muhammad bin Maslama and my foster
brother Abu Naila. A generous man should respond to a call at night even if
invited to be killed." Muhammad bin Maslama went with two men. (Some narrators
mention the men as 'Abu bin Jabr. Al Harith bin Aus and Abbad bin Bishr). So
Muhammad bin Maslama went in together with two men, and sail to them, "When
Ka'b comes, I will touch his hair and smell it, and when you see that I have
got hold of his head, strip him. I will let you smell his head." Kab bin
Al-Ashraf came down to them wrapped in his clothes, and diffusing perfume.
Muhammad bin Maslama said. " have never smelt a better scent than this. Ka'b
replied. "I have got the best 'Arab women who know how to use the high class
of perfume." Muhammad bin Maslama requested Ka'b "Will you allow me to smell
your head?" Ka'b said, "Yes." Muhammad smelt it and made his companions smell
it as well. Then he requested Ka'b again, "Will you let me (smell your head)?"
Ka'b said, "Yes." When Muhammad got a strong hold of him, he said (to his
companions), "Get at him!" So they killed him and went to the Prophet and
informed him. (Abu Rafi) was killed after Ka'b bin Al-Ashraf."

Women in paradise - they are there for men’s use
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 6, Book 60, Number 402:
Narrated Abdullah bin Qais:
Allah's Apostle said, "In Paradise there
is a pavilion made of a single hollow pearl sixty miles wide, in each
corner of which there are wives who will not see those in the other corners;
and the believers will visit and enjoy them. And there are two gardens,
the utensils and contents of which are made of silver; and two other gardens,

What should happen to someone who gives up Islam? (Apostasy)
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 4, Book 52, Number 260:
Narrated Ikrima:
Ali burnt some people and this news reached Ibn
'Abbas, who said, "Had I been in his place I would not have burnt them, as the
Prophet said, 'Don't punish (anybody) with Allah's Punishment.' No doubt, I
would have killed them, for the Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim)
discards his religion, kill him.' "
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 5, Book 59, Number 630:
Narrated Abu Burda:
Allah's Apostle sent Abu Musa and Muadh bin Jabal
to Yemen. He sent each of them to administer a province as Yemen consisted of
two provinces. The Prophet said (to them), "Facilitate things for the people
and do not make things difficult for them (Be kind and lenient (both of you)
with the people, and do not be hard on them) and give the people good tidings
and do not repulse them. So each of them went to carry on his job. So when any
one of them toured his province and happened to come near (the border of the
province of) his companion, he would visit him and greet him. Once Mu'adh
toured that part of his state which was near (the border of the province of)
his companion Abu Musa. Mu'adh came riding his mule till he reached Abu Musa
and saw him sitting, and the people had gathered around him. Behold! There
was a man tied with his hands behind his neck. Mu'adh said to Abu Musa, "O
'Abdullah bin Qais! What is this?" Abu Musa replied. "This man has reverted to
Heathenism after embracing Islam." Mu'adh said, "I will not dismount till he
is killed." Abu Musa replied, "He has been brought for this purpose, so come
down." Mu'adh said, "I will not dismount till he is killed." So Abu Musa
ordered that he be killed, and he was killed. Then Mu'adh dismounted and
said, "O Abdullah (bin Qais)! How do you recite the Qur'an?" Abu Musa said, "I
recite the Qur'an regularly at intervals and piecemeal. How do you recite it O
Mu'adh?" Mu'adh said, "I sleep in the first part of the night and then get up
after having slept for the time devoted for my sleep and then recite as much
as Allah has written for me. So I seek Allah's Reward for both my sleep as
well as my prayer (at night)."

Anas bin Malik said, "The Prophet used to visit
all his wives in a round, during the day and night and they were eleven in
number." I asked Anas, "Had the Prophet the strength for it?" Anas
replied, "We used to say that the Prophet was given the strength of thirty

bath)."
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 7, Book 62, Number 5:

We presented ourselves along with Ibn 'Abbas at the

Muhammad chooses his sexual partners from those he invades
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 8, Number 367:
Narrated 'Abdul 'Aziz:
Anas said, 'When Allah's Apostle invaded
Khaibar, we offered the Fajr prayer there yearly in the morning) when it was
still dark. The Prophet rode and Abu Talha rode too and I was riding behind
Abu Talha. The Prophet passed through the lane of Khaibar quickly and my knee
was touching the thigh of the Prophet . He uncovered his thigh and I saw the
whiteness of the thigh of the Prophet. When he entered the town, he said,
'Allahu Akbar! Khaibar is ruined. Whenever we approach near a (hostile) nation
(to fight) then evil will be the morning of those who have been warned.' He
repeated this thrice. The people came out for their jobs and some of them
said, 'Muhammad (has come).' (Some of our companions added, "With his army.")
We conquered Khaibar, took the captives, and the booty was collected. Dihya
came and said, 'O Allah's Prophet! Give me a slave girl from the captives.'
The Prophet said, 'Go and take any slave girl.' He took Safiya bint Huyai. A
man came to the Prophet and said, 'O Allah's Apostles! You gave Safiya bint
Huyai to Dihya and she is the chief mistress of the tribes of Quraiza and
An-Nadir and she befits none but you.' So the Prophet said, 'Bring him along
with her.' So Dihya came with her and when the Prophet saw her, he said to
Dihya, 'Take any slave girl other than her from the captives.' Anas added:
The Prophet then manumitted her and married her." Thabit asked Anas, "O
Abu Hamza! What did the Prophet pay her (as Mahr)?" He said, "Her self was her
Mahr for he manumitted her and then married her." Anas added, "While on the
way, Um Sulaim dressed her for marriage (ceremony) and at night she sent her
as a bride to the Prophet . So the Prophet was a bridegroom and he said,
'Whoever has anything (food) should bring it.' He spread out a leather sheet
(for the food) and some brought dates and others cooking butter. (I think he
(Anas) mentioned As-SawTq). So they prepared a dish of Hais (a kind of meal).
And that was Walrma (the marriage banquet) of Allah's Apostle."
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 7, Book 62, Number 22:
Narrated Anas:
The Prophet stayed for three days between Khaibar and
Medina, and there he consummated his marriage to Safiyya bint Huyai. I invited
the Muslims to the wedding banquet in which neither meat nor bread was
offered. He ordered for leather dining-sheets to be spread, and dates, dried
yoghurt and butter were laid on it, and that was the Prophet's wedding
banquet. The Muslims wondered, "Is she (Saffiyya) considered as his wife or
his slave girl?" Then they said, "If he orders her to veil herself, she
will be one of the mothers of the Believers; but if he does not order her to
veil herself, she will be a slave girl. So when the Prophet proceeded from
there, he spared her a space behind him (on his she-camel) and put a screening
veil between her and the people.

What physically happened to Muhammad when he received so-called revelations?
- Muhammad experienced ringing in his ears, like bells. Sweat was on his
forehead
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 1, Number 2:
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/001.sbt.html#001.001.002
Narrated 'Aisha: (the mother of the faithful believers)
Al-Harith bin Hisham asked Allah's Apostle "O Allah's Apostle! How is the
Divine Inspiration revealed to you?" Allah's Apostle replied, "Sometimes
it is (revealed) like the ringing of a bell, this form of Inspiration is
the hardest of all and then this state passes ' off after I have grasped
what is inspired. Sometimes the Angel comes in the form of a man and talks
to me and I grasp whatever he says." 'Aisha added: Verily I saw the Prophet
being inspired Divinely on a very cold day and noticed the Sweat dropping
from his forehead (as the Inspiration was over).
- His heart would beat rapidly
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 1, Number 3:
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/001.sbt.html#001.001.003
Narrated 'Aisha:
………Then Allah's Apostle returned with the Inspiration and with his
heart beating severely.
- His face was red and he would breath heavily
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 6, Book 61, Number 508:
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/061.sbt.html#006.061.508
Narrated Safwan bin Ya'la bin Umaiya:
Ya'la used to say, "I wish I could see Allah's Apostle at the time he is
being inspired Divinely." When the Prophet was at Al-Ja'rana and was shaded
by a garment hanging over him and some of his companions were with him, a
man perfumed with scent came and said, "O Allah's Apostle! What is your
opinion regarding a man who assumes Ihram and puts on a cloak after
perfuming his body with scent?" The Prophet waited for a while, and then the
Divine Inspiration descended upon him. 'Umar pointed out to Ya'la, telling
him to come. Ya'la came and pushed his head (underneath the screen which was
covering the Prophet ) and behold! The Prophet's face was red and he kept
on breathing heavily for a while and then he was relieved. Thereupon he
said, "Where is the questioner who asked me about 'Umra a while ago?" The
man was sought and then was brought before the Prophet who said (to him),
"As regards the scent which you perfumed your body with, you must wash it
off thrice, and as for your cloak, you must take it off; and then perform in
your 'Umra all those things which you perform in Hajj."
- He would suddenly fall down or lie down; he wanted to be covered by a
blanket
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 4, Book 54, Number 461:
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/054.sbt.html#004.054.461
Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:
that he heard the Prophet saying, "The Divine Inspiration was delayed for
a short period but suddenly, as I was walking. I heard a voice in the sky,
and when I looked up towards the sky, to my surprise, I saw the angel who
had come to me in the Hira Cave, and he was sitting on a chair in between
the sky and the earth. I was so frightened by him that I fell on the
ground and came to my family and said (to them), 'Cover me! (with a
blanket), cover me!' Then Allah sent the Revelation: "O, You wrapped up
(In a blanket)! (Arise and warn! And your Lord magnify And keep pure your
garments, And desert the idols." (74.1-5)
- He would fall down unconscious
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 5, Book 58, Number 170:
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/058.sbt.html#005.058.170
Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:
When the Ka'ba was rebuilt, the Prophet and 'Abbas went to carry stones.
'Abbas said to the Prophet "(Take off and) put your waist sheet over your
neck so that the stones may not hurt you." (But as soon as he took off his
waist sheet) he fell unconscious on the ground with both his eyes towards
the sky. When he came to his senses, he said, "My waist sheet! My waist
sheet!" Then he tied his waist sheet (round his waist).
- His lips would move rapidly
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 1, Number 4:
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/001.sbt.html#001.001.004
Narrated Said bin Jubair:
Ibn 'Abbas in the explanation of the Statement of Allah. 'Move not your
tongue concerning (the Quran) to make haste therewith." (75.16) Said
"Allah's Apostle used to bear the revelation with great trouble and used
to move his lips (quickly) with the Inspiration." Ibn 'Abbas moved his
lips saying, "I am moving my lips in front of you as Allah's Apostle used to
move his." Said moved his lips saying: "I am moving my lips, as I saw Ibn
'Abbas moving his." Ibn 'Abbas added, "So Allah revealed 'Move not your
tongue concerning (the Qur'an) to make haste therewith. It is for us to
collect it and to give you (O Muhammad) the ability to recite it (the
Qur'an) (75.16-17) which means that Allah will make him (the Prophet )
remember the portion of the Qur'an which was revealed at that time by heart
and recite it. The Statement of Allah: And 'When we have recited it to you
(O Muhammad through Gabriel) then you follow its (Qur'an) recital' (75.18)
means 'listen to it and be silent.' Then it is for Us (Allah) to make It
clear to you' (75.19) means 'Then it is (for Allah) to make you recite it
(and its meaning will be clear by itself through your tongue). Afterwards,
Allah's Apostle used to listen to Gabriel whenever he came and after his
departure he used to recite it as Gabriel had recited it."
- He heard or saw things others around him did not, he had dreams
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 1, Book 1, Number 3:
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/001.sbt.html#001.001.003
Narrated 'Aisha:
(the mother of the faithful believers) The commencement of the Divine
Inspiration to Allah's Apostle was in the form of good dreams which came
true like bright day light, and then the love of seclusion was bestowed upon
him. He used to go in seclusion in the cave of Hira where he used to
worship (Allah alone) continuously for many days before his desire to see
his family……
- He would snore like a camel
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 3, Book 27, Number 17:
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/027.sbt.html#003.027.017
Narrated Safwan bin Ya'la bin Umaiya from his father who said:
"A man came to the Prophet while he was at Ji'rana. The man was wearing a
cloak which had traces of Khaluq or Sufra (a kind of perfume). The man asked
(the Prophet), 'What do you order me to perform in my 'Umra?' So, Allah
inspired the Prophet divinely and he was screened by a place of cloth. I
wished to see the Prophet being divinely inspired. 'Umar said to me,
'Come! Will you be pleased to look at the Prophet while Allah is inspiring
him?' I replied in the affirmative. 'Umar lifted one corner of the cloth and
I looked at the Prophet who was snoring. (The sub-narrator thought that
he said: The snoring was like that of a camel). When that state was
over, the Prophet asked, "Where is the questioner who asked about 'Umra? Put
off your cloak and wash away the traces of Khaluq from your body and clean
the Sufra (yellow color) and perform in your Umra what you perform in your
Hajj (i.e. the Tawaf round the Ka'ba and the Sa'i between Safa and Marwa). "
- He would sweat
Sahih Al-Bukhari: Volume 2, Book 24, Number 544:
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/024.sbt.html#002.024.544
Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri :
Once the Prophet sat on a pulpit and we sat around him. Then he said,
"The things I am afraid of most for your sake (concerning what will befall
you after me) is the pleasures and splendors of the world and its beauties
which will be disclosed to you." Somebody said, "O Allah's Apostle! Can the
good bring forth evil?" The Prophet remained silent for a while. It was said
to that person, "What is wrong with you? You are talking to the Prophet
(p.b.u.h) while he is not talking to you." Then we noticed that he was being
inspired divinely. Then the Prophet wiped off his sweat and said,
"Where is the questioner?" It seemed as if the Prophet liked his question.
Then he said, "Good never brings forth evil. Indeed it is like what grows on
the banks of a water-stream which either kill or make the animals sick,
except if an animal eats its fill the Khadira (a kind of vegetable) and then
faces the sun, and then defecates and urinates and grazes again. No doubt
this wealth is sweet and green. Blessed is the wealth of a Muslim from which
he gives to the poor, the orphans and to needy travelers. (Or the Prophet
said something similar to it) No doubt, whoever takes it illegally will be
like the one who eats but is never satisfied, and his wealth will be a
witness against him on the Day of Resurrection."

- The medical opinion:
Generally, these are considered to be symptoms of someone who has a
brain disorder or who suffers from epilepsy. If it were epilepsy, which is
an abnormality of the central nervous system, then these would be convulsive
seizures or “fits”. Except during the period of the “attack”, the sufferer is
normal both mentally and physically.
- The spiritual opinion:
Muhammad was being misled by a spirit. These kinds of signs had
never been experienced by a so-called prophet before. Is this the way God
works to “inspire” a person?
